For a few months now, people have been telling me, what a fun Christmas we were going to have with the kids being their current ages… Well, I will tell you. If you happen to have a one and two year old… Those people are right. It is a whole lot of fun. Accompanied of course, by a whole lot of sugar highs and lows, tears, giggles, excitement, some more tears, cuddles, questions, and some more sugar.
Jack was quite keen on Santa this year, although when we took him to meet Santa at Breakfast, he wasn’t all that warm and cuddly with him, he did however give him a high five and told him which Train accessory he wanted. Olivia on the other hand, has a secret crush on santa and has been running around the house saying ‘santa, ho ho ho’ for the last two weeks. However, similar to Jack, but with a little extra full body shaking to add to the dramatic affect, when the real Santa approaches, she’s not thrilled. I tried to get Steve to set her down with Santa regardless of the tears, for that classic crying on Santa’s lap shot, but he wouldn’t do it. Something about people watching and the baby clinging for dear life to his body. Since I was holding the camera and dealing with Jack who was more than finished standing anywhere close to Santa, he won.
Overall the past week has been wonderful, Christmas morning was beyond busy, but the days following of doing nothing but playing together, cuddling, cooking, reading, visiting with family and friends, has been wonderful. I love Christmas time and am planning to drag it on just a little longer. I’m tempted to take my tree down, but I just can’t do it. Maybe next week.
I hope that all of you have had and continue to have a wonderful Holiday Season together with your loves. Though I feel as though I didn’t take a single picture in all the busyness of Christmas, turns out I snapped a couple.
